I am not one to read romance novels nor do I think that this really constitutes as a romance novel however this book gripped me. The minute I started to read the first book until the end of the third book I couldn't stop reading. Although it is very descriptive in an explicite manner there is a lot more to this story than just that. It is a great love story that starts off very dysfunctional and in the end... well you just have to read it. I love this book and would love to have another trilogy of the same type by this author written or even the same exact trilogy written from Grey's perspective or another characters perspective. I never read books twice however with this trilogy I decided I want to read it again just to relive the feelings you get when reading this book, I actually was jealous of Ana... Have fun reading this book and just sit back and enjoy it, don't analyze it or feel guilty for reading some of the explicite parts just enjoy. One piece of advice, do not read this around your kids, it will feel too weird.

I suppose I can understand both arguments. On the one hand it centers around a dominent that was abused when he was younger. If you can get past what happened to him and see how it shaped who he's become you start to understand him. Ana is a nieve young women looking for love in her first relationship. I wasn't at all familiar with the dominent/sub lifestyle but it didn't disgust me like so many other readers either. Once you got past the dominent/sub part in the first book, you start to see how they both want to make changes in their lives to accomodate the other because they are falling in love. Cheapest fifty shades freed for Kindle, The love story that develops in the second and third books really makes the trilogy. It's just a shame that some people are missing out because they can't get past the issues in the first book. It's definitly worth the read and I will read them all again.

I almost stopped about half way through the last book so it wouldn't be over but I couldn't help myself. Thank you EL James for these amazing books! I loved Christian and watching his view of the world change as he fell in love. Not so crazy about Ana as she seemed a little like a spoiled child that just couldn't quite get over herself sometimes, but she grew as well. This book really tied the story line together and it felt so good to see Christian learn to live life instead of living in a glass bubble. Can't wait to see what comes next - could there possibly be a sequel somewhere down the road.

I had no idea when I bought this first book, what the story was going to be about. At first I was a little put off by the thought of Sexual Bondage, but after reading these books, I really didn't mind anymore. I liked the fact that it was two consenting adults who love each other. Nothing wrong with getting a little kinky with the person you love! I read all 3 books in 3 days, and yes, my house looks like a pigstye and I've barely gotten any sleep :) I was so sad when I was done with the books and it took me a few days to come out of my funk. The writing wasn't the best, but the story and characters I had in my mind, made up for that. I would highly recommend this book as longs as your aren't easily offend by graphic sexual content. Like I said earlier, I was a little apprehensive to read about Bondage, but this book was freaking hott!

I literally read all three books in less than a week. This last book sums up Ana's and Christian's relationship so nicely. My only question is...When does the movie come out? And...Who will play Christian and Ana? I am recommending this series to everyone and anyone I know. Get one cheap 50 shades of grey book here. Big kudos to EL James for creating such amazing characters and with such imagination transforming their relationship in such a way that you feel it's right before your eyes. If you want a book to read and keep your attention for hours on end then read this series. I can safely say you will NOT regret reading it, well only when you're done. I for one, started re-reading the series again. Without spoiling the ending, what I loved most is the how the author incorporated Christian's perspective on what he thought of Ana from the day he met her. It was a pleasant surprise and a great way to end the book. Bravo to you Ms. James and thank you for these books!
